On Feb 6, we hosted Disabilities Rock! featuring Stuart Ellis-Myers who highlighted a variety of experiences of people living with disabilities at work and how to better support an inclusive work culture. Thanks so much to Expedia for sponsoring and hosting the Seattle DEI Community of Practice (DEI CoP) and thanks to all of you who braved the Seattle Snowpocalypse 2019 to spend the evening with us! This event featured an introduction from Stacie Siebrecht from Disability Rights Washington, a presentation from Stuart, and audience conversation about how one’s experience with disabilities intersect with other marginalized identities such as race or sexual orientation.

DEI CoP Kick-off Event

At this event we gathered greater-Seattle based DEI practitioners, ERG leaders, and other influencers to gauge interest in forming the DEI Community of Practice. The brainstorm session was attended by 80 local professionals and as a result, we formed the Steering Committee and officially launch the DEI CoP in the Spring of 2017.
