The Seattle Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Community of Practice (DEI CoP) is a growing network of professionals committed to establishing and enhancing diversity, equity and inclusion practices within Seattle area organizations through community and collaboration. This work isn't easy. It takes empathy, awareness and collaboration. We believe that we must work together to find best practices that ensure our teams and employees are heard, accepted and supported.
We aim to foster greater diversity, equity and inclusion practices among local non-profit, private and public sector professionals and community members located in the greater Seattle area through shared best practices and strong collaboration.
We connect DEI practitioners, employee resource group (ERG) leaders, and other DEI influencers from greater Seattle area organizations with the common goal of advancing equity in inclusive workplaces that value diversity. The DEI CoP is a professional organization led by a steering committee (SC) comprised of volunteers from multi-sectoral organizations across greater Seattle.
Who We Are
The DEI CoP SC is comprised of a subset of the larger DEI CoP. Members of the DEI CoP SC serve on a voluntary basis for two-year terms and may be affiliated with different organizations and sectors; however, the views and practices of the DEI CoP members do not necessarily reflect those of the organizations with which members are affiliated or employed. The SC connects CoP members with DEI practitioners to increase multi-sectoral learnings. The current full list of Steering Committee members can be found here.
We share common challenges and establish best practices to address them, and identify opportunities for networking, collaboration and innovation to further diversity, equity and inclusion. DEI CoP members are also encouraged to be active members within their local community as volunteers, advocates, mentors, sponsors and leaders.
